SUFFERING FROM FINANCIAL HARDSHIP?

Hard times happen!

If you are suffering from a financial hardship, there are resources out there to assist you. Stanislaus County has many different agencies that are there to help you during financial hardships from needing emergency rent assistance, emergency housing/shelter, if you are low income and even programs for single parents.

Here are some quick references:

The Stanislaus County Housing Authority provides low income families with help paying rent as well as safe and sanitary housing. They also manage a Minor Home Repair Program. They can be reached at 557-2000
Community Housing & Shelter Services (527-0444) offers qualified individuals with rental assistance, temporary shelter, and housing counseling for families in a crisis or emergency situation
Central Valley Opportunity Center provides emergency housing and rental assistance to families with paying their rent and/or emergency shelter. Call 537-9217, or find more details on Central Valley Opportunity Center programs.
Stanislaus Community Assistance Project – This agency runs the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Rehousing Program. The HPRP program provides limited cash grants and funding, short-term financial assistance (rent, security deposit or utility bill assistance, moving costs) for those who have lost housing, are facing an eviction or who are at risk of losing housing. Salvation Army Turlock Corps Community Center – Serves the emergency needs of the low income and struggling in the community through a variety of assistance programs including TID Utility Assistance, Low Income Tax Preparation Assistance (VITA), EACH Utility Assistance, Rent Help, Emergency Food Baskets, as well as Referral and Information Assistance. 893 Lander Avenue, Turlock, California 95380, phone (209) 667-609
Sacred Heart Church offers emergency assistance for paying rent and/or utility bills. Additional services can include food, clothing, and more to the low income and suffering. They also partner with the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul charity organization in Stanislaus. 529 I Street, Patterson, California, 95363, dial 209-892-9321.
Family Promise Of Greater Modesto offers food, meals, shelter, and housing to people facing eviction and the homeless. Case managers will help place people into new housing and gain stability. A number of local churches are part of this charity, and they offer various services to families in poverty. 2301 Woodland Avenue, Modesto, California, 95358. Single Parents Alliance of America. SPAOA is comprised of information, benefits, and savings for single parents across the United States, and is dedicated to the purpose of supplying information about financial planning, advice, articles, information, and other services that may be useful and beneficial to single parents.
